As recommendations regarding COVID-19 remain fluid, the administration will continue to monitor any changes and will publicize any changes to our plan via the district website, social media, print and other mediums.
Our goal is to release our plan in a few weeks.
In accordance with the Governor’s most recent executive order to shelter in place, in addition to running out of Personal Protective Equipment, we regret to announce we will suspend our Covid-19 Grab and Go Feeding Program. Friday, April 3rd, will be our last day to serve meals. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated.
All school offices and the district administrative office will be closed until April 17th. Thank you for understanding and we pray for your health and safety!
Dr. Titus M. Hines, Superintendent
As of Saturday, March 14th at approximately 1:40pm Governor Tate Reeves declared a State of Emergency in the State of Mississippi. In addition, he has asked schools to extend Spring Break by one week. With this in mind, the Lawrence County School District will extend Spring Break for the week of March 16-20. In addition, all LCSD extracurricular activities will be suspended next week as well. Further guidance concerning athletics will come later as we receive guidance from the Mississippi High School Athletic Association. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and follow the guidance of the Mississippi Department of Health, Mississippi Department of Education, and other state government agencies.
We will keep you informed should any further changes become necessary. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we move forward with this situation.
